Pinkberry Sticky Bun from Flour Bakery
With 10 locations in Massachusetts, Pinkberry New England is introducing its new Celebrity Swirl campaign bringing the flavors, products and talents of local icons and chefs into its test kitchen. First up, executive pastry chef and co-owner of Flour Bakery Joanne Chang in Boston, MA is working with the Pinkberry New England team to create a flavor inspired by her world famous sticky buns, which will available from December 1 through December 31, with 10% of the flavor's proceeds to go to Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign.

Named to bake magazine’s 2015 list of America’s 25 essential bakers and pastry chefs, Chang opened Flour in 2000 with the inspiration to make life sweeter. The bakery and café has been featured in Gourmet, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Lucky magazine, Inc. Magazine, and Boston Magazine, as well as receiving a slew of Best of Boston awards. Joanne's sticky buns became nationally known in 2007 when she beat Bobby Flay in a throwdown on the Food Network, gaining popularity and becoming one of the most iconic flavors around Boston.

"I'm a huge Pinkberry fan and it goes without saying that having your own Pinkberry flavor is an honor. That all being said, the opportunity to generate awareness and donations for No Kid Hungry, a charity that (her husband) Christopher (Myers) and I are closely tied to, made this all that much sweeter," said Chang.

Incorporated into the proprietary blend, guests of Pinkberry New England will taste hints of cinnamon, pecans and caramel that was developed by the R & D team of Pinkberry under the watchful eye of Chang. The new signature flavor referred to simply as "Joanne Chang's Sticky Bun" is just in time for the holidays. The signature flavor's suggested pairing - an actual sticky bun from Flour Bakery - will also be an available topping at all the stores for the month of December 2015 as well.

"The Celebrity Swirl campaign will be an ongoing initiative based on the flavors that we revere here in New England. Whether it be an actual iconic product, a particular brand, or an individual that is part of the lexicon that makes up the culinary landscape, we want to honor that. We also thought it was extremely important to ensure that a percentage of the proceeds went back to a charity that was meaningful to our flavor curator," said Trippe Lonian, chief executive of NE Frog Pond LLC, Pinkberry's area developer for most of New England.
