Mobile Cuisine, the online resource for foodies, food truck freaks and would-be celebrity chefs, teams up with Menagerie Kitchen in Pontiac to offer "How To Food Truck" classes.

Do you love the idea of being your own boss?

Have you considered starting a food truck more than once?

Join Mobile Cuisine at Menagerie Kitchen Monday, August 24 for the first in a series of classes of "How To Food Truck" to start and successfully operate your own truck.

Mobile Cuisine was founded as the online destination for anyone with an interest in this culinary craze.  It's now the leading industry resource covering topics from current business and political issues, exclusive news and interviews with a wide variety of original content.

"The idea came to me while I was researching how to start a hot dog cart business," said Richard Myrick, a Detroit-area businessman who was educated an as architect and spent years in commercial and retail development.  "Industry information was scattered all over the place or just plain not available, and I realized I couldn't be the only person around with an interest in this subject."

After 5 years of research, speaking on behalf of this young industry and writing Running a Food Truck For Dummies (published by John Wiley and arguably the most comprehensive food truck "how to" book in the marketplace), Richard Myrick and Mobile Cuisine are teaming up with Pontiac-based Menagerie Kitchen to offer the first in the series of "How To Food Truck" classes.

The first class takes a broad look into the industry and will answer the most basic questions helping students determine if starting a food truck is really for them.  This program will offer more sessions digging deep into all aspects of starting and operating a food truck.  Special guests and industry professionals will be in to offer their expertise.

In this introductory course, students will learn:

Misconceptions of the mobile food industry.

What it takes to be a food trucker.

The basic steps involved in hitting the streets – from menu planning, marketing, operations, building, business licensing, and more.
