The words Grand National Wedding Cake Competition and the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show immediately conjures up in one’s mind’s eye an expectation of unsurpassed high standards generated from the nation’s best, who in turn only use the best ingredients and equipment to present the most astounding artistry. National competition is fierce but gracious, and the sense of camaraderie among the competitors is genuine. They refer to the event as the Super Bowl of Cakes. Some even liken it to winning a Miss America title, because the stakes and expectations are so high.

So what’s in store this year? Contestants are simply mad about the Fashion Week 2015 theme. Their lofty tiers are required to portray the nuances that comprise the seasonal buzz of aspects of Fashion Week anywhere around the globe; could be designers creations, runway sets, any era, nostalgia, any season, anywhere that a registered Fashion Week is or has been staged. Contestants are already planning and plotting mesmerizing techniques and one-off designs. Expect to see bold, eye-catching, statement makers, and top-notch artistic work that is always incomparable!

Alan Richardson and Karen Tack famed for Hello Cupcake, What’s new, Cupcake?

Cupcakes & Cookies & Pies Oh My! And now, Cake my Day!

They plan to dazzle creating ‘A Few of HIS Favorite Things.’

Dark horse, Michael Lewis-Anderson baker extraordinaire to the Belgian royal family extended aristocracy and Corps Diplomatique. (Michael not only earned the royal warrant for his bakery but was personally recognized for his devotion to pastry and the sugar arts)

Michael will create a royal tableau with all the pomp and pageantry dedicated to the 90th birthday celebrations of HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.
