Local owners Clent and Nikki Sullivan have signed a lease to bring a Great Harvest Bread Company bakery to Kingwood, Texas. The new bakery will open this fall and will be located at 2665 Royal Forest Dr., Ste. 10, in the Colonnade at Royal Forest Shopping Center. It will be located behind the Conservatory and Aveda Day Spa just a block north of Kingwood Drive.

The locally owned, whole grain family bakery will provide high quality, made from scratch products. Great Harvest bakeries use classic stone mills to grind premium Montana wheat berries into whole-wheat flour daily to ensure freshness, nutrition, and flavor. Great Harvest’s breads are also made without preservatives, additives or dough conditioners.

“My wife and I are excited to open a business that shares many of the core values we espouse in our family,” says Clent. “We love great tasting and wholesome food and look forward to sharing it with all our neighbors in the Northeast Houston area. We also want our small business to have a positive impact on the community through various avenues of outreach. Our goals match the Great Harvest mission, which is ‘Be loose & have fun. Bake phenomenal bread. Run fast to help customers. Give generously to others.’”

The opening day menu will include delicious bread like Honey Whole Wheat, a signature bread crafted from five simple ingredients: water, honey, salt, fresh yeast, and wheat flour. Other featured products will be a rotating selection of specialty breads: Cinnamon Chip, Farmhouse White, Dakota, High Five Fiber, and Jalapeno Cheddar. They will also offer a variety of additional items including freshly baked dog biscuits, granola, and an assortment of cookies, brownies and scones.

“We love to bake farm-to-table products at home and share our production with friends and neighbors,” says Nikki. “We see this as an opportunity to accomplish this on a much broader scale.”

A fresh, made-to-order sandwich menu will be available daily, offering many choices including Baja Chipotle Turkey, Chimichurri Roast Beef, and even the traditional PB&J for the kids. Additionally, seasonal offerings will be available including Turkey Cranberry and Portobello Banh Mi, a traditional French-Vietnamese vegetarian sandwich. All of the products on their menu will be available for catering.

Coffee (including drip and iced versions), will be available daily. The freshly ground coffee beans will come from gourmet local roaster Vertere Coffee Roasters. Free wireless high speed Internet will be available in the café for customers to enjoy as well as a kids’ corner for young families.

Originally founded in 1976 in Great Falls, Mont., Great Harvest has more than 200 bakeries located throughout the nation including Alaska and Hawaii.
