Southampton, NY-based Tate's Bake Shop took home the gold for its Gluten-Free Ginger Zinger Cookie at the Summer Fancy Food Show's SOFI Awards red-carpet gala held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City on June 29.

Winning best in category for "Vegan or Gluten-Free Products," the cookie which boasts the brand's signature thin, crisp, buttery taste, with zesty chunks of ginger in each bite, impressed a blue ribbon panel of industry judges, earning the top gold distinction. A pool of 125 finalists spanning 32 categories and 2,771 entries competed for the chance to be recognized as the best of the best with a Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation award. This is Tate's third gold SOFI. The company also has five silvers.

"Now Tate's cookie fans from coast to coast can bite into a Gluten Free Ginger Zinger knowing they're getting the gold standard in gluten free and all of the deliciousness you'd expect from Tate's Bake Shop!" said Tate's legendary founder and recipe developer, Kathleen King. She added that the secret to the brand's mouth-watering cookies lies in the company's commitment to using premium, all natural ingredients that are free of preservatives and GMOs.

The Gluten Free Ginger Zinger's key ingredient, crystallized ginger bits, can only be harvested in the central region of Thailand in June, July and August. A delicate customized curing process of the ginger maximizes the taste profile of the cookie. All of Tate's gluten free baked goods are made in Tate's dedicated gluten free facility on Long Island, New York.
