The American Bakers Association would like to congratulate H&S Bakery on their partnership with ROUSH CleanTech in the deployment of 16 environmental and economically sustainable propane autogas, delivery trucks and the production of 32 more within the next 18 months.

H&S Bakery unveiled their new trucks which run off propane autogas, a clean, reliable, and economical, domestic fuel. Designed to suit the bakery’s need for space, range and reliability, these alternative fuel vehicles reduce carbon emissions, fuel and maintenance costs. The event was held at their new distribution center which recently received two Green Stars through the Baltimore City Green Building Standards.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake thanked the Paterakis family for their commitment to Baltimore’s sustainability efforts. The Mayor had the chance to see a demonstration of fueling the new fleet, and was able to take the new vehicle for a ride.

The American Bakers Association Logistics Committee has been working with Companies like H&S Bakery in bringing alternative fuel vehicles to the wholesale baking industry. One of H&S Bakery’s new propane autogas trucks will be in Washington, D.C. for a presentation to the committee at its 2015 Winter Meeting on January 22.
