King Arthur Flour has hired Julia Reed as the company’s new Public Relations Coordinator. Reed’s primary responsibility is to share King Arthur Flour’s story and make sure everyone is aware of the array of baking products, educational opportunities, and inspiration the company offers. She will also be a primary contact for media seeking samples or information from the company.

“Julia stood out as an exceptional representative for King Arthur Flour with her combination of baking enthusiasm and fantastic communication skills, including beautiful photography and prose,” says Terri Rosenstock, King Arthur Flour Public Relations Manager. “I suggest if you’re meeting with her that you ask her to bring along some of her legendary lemon chocolate chip cookies.”

Reed holds a BS in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College, where she studied film and photography. She moved to Los Angeles after graduation, where she worked as a freelance writer and photographer. “I went to California to work in the movies, but found myself being solicited for writing, and photography jobs instead.” Reed says. “I enjoyed the work and decided to run with it, taking production jobs here and there to remain in touch with the industry and maintain contacts. I feel fortunate to have had the non-traditional experience I had, instead of taking the course I thought I would—especially since it led me to this amazing position at King Arthur!”

“A love for food is downright in my DNA. My mom was a baker and my father was a chef, so King Arthur Flour has been a staple in my kitchen since before I was even born. In lean times, I remember it being the only name-brand item my parents wouldn’t switch for a generic, and when I began baking myself, I understood why. I’m thrilled to be working for such an amazing company, promoting products I personally use and believe in.”
