The Cake Awards have revealed the judges who will decide the very best British cakes. Bruce Langlands, Director of Food at Harrods, award winning Pâtissier and Chocolatier, Will Torrent, and Master Patissier, Eric Lanlard will be included in the line up of judges that will decide the ten category winners to be announced at the award ceremony in June.

The Cake Awards are the only awards dedicated to recognising excellence in cake - from the finest tea room slice and grandest hotel fancies to the myriad varieties on the shelves of supermarkets, bakery shops and retail food chains across the country.

Judging will take place on the 9th and 10th April in a specially designed facility, where every product will be judged by the panel of experts. The credibility of the Awards is dependent on the independence and consistency of the judging process, where everything from kitchen to judge's fork is controlled to ensure participants get an equal and fair chance. Every judge records their own feedback and comments and then the group discuss the merits of each product. All entrants will receive detailed written feedback on their product.

The awards are now open to enter, featuring a range of categories from Tea Room Cake to Wedding Cake and Supermarket Cake. Only the cakes that have it all will be awarded with the prestigious Cake Awards title, with winners being announced at the afternoon tea and awards ceremony on the 19th June at the Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair, London.

The Cake Awards is a joint venture between food industry expert Jane Milton and event organisers UBM Awards & Partnerships.

Jane Milton, co-founder of The Cake Awards says, "The diverse selection of judges on our expert panel, will determine the best cakes available in the UK, and what better endorsement of your product than getting the seal of approval from these highly regarded individuals."
