Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, a self-serve, choose-your-own-toppings frozen dessert chain, has announced the opening of its first store in Manhattan. To celebrate its grand opening on Jan. 24, Orange Leaf has partnered with Cookies for Kids' Cancer, a national non-profit organization committed to raising funds to support research for new and improved therapies for pediatric cancer, the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 18. In four years, Cookies for Kids' Cancer has granted nearly $4 million to research. Orange Leaf will donate all proceeds from its grand opening day to Cookies for Kids' Cancer.

Headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK, the first NYC store will be located at 608 Second Avenue, between 33rd and 34th Streets. With more than 200 locations nationwide, Orange Leaf allows its customers to make their own desserts by selecting from 16 frozen yogurt flavors, including no-sugar-added, gluten-free and lactose-free alternatives, and choosing from a generous selection of do-it-yourself toppings.

"During the past several years, the frozen yogurt industry has taken the country by storm, especially in New York City," says John Connors, New York Franchisee for Orange Leaf. "By launching in NYC, we look forward to introducing New Yorkers not only to our great tasting frozen dessert, but also to the community-driven treats experience. As an organization, Orange Leaf has become known for its commitment to giving back to the communities in which it has a presence. We are delighted to support this effort and to partner with a wonderful organization such as Cookies for Kids' Cancer."

In addition to donating all proceeds generated during its grand opening to Cookies for Kids' Cancer, Orange Leaf's traditional toppings bar will include a selection of cookies from the charity available for New York customers to put on top of their frozen treats.

"We commend Orange Leaf for their efforts to support local communities and look forward to welcoming such a sweet organization to New York City, where community spirit made Cookies for Kids' Cancer a reality," says Gretchen Holt Witt, Founder of Cookies for Kids' Cancer. "On its grand opening day, not only will all proceeds be donated to Cookies for Kids' Cancer, but our gourmet cookies will be featured at the toppings bar so everyone can taste how delicious they are and hopefully get excited about supporting our cause."

The grand opening event will take place from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 608 Second Avenue.
