"Home & Family" co-hosts Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare welcomed Chris Brugler, "The Challah King of Beverly Hills."  But how did this Catholic kid from Philadelphia become a challah expert?  Brugler explained that during his time as a private chef for a family in Beverly Hills he baked this traditional, braided bread for them that is usually served for Shabbat dinner.  He began to experiment and developed variations on the egg bread that makes it perfect for many occasions.

On the show, Brugler taught Steines and Ferrare the basic steps for making challah and brought ingredients that give this bread a fresh twist, including white chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips and even dried cranberries.  Brugler said that the popularity of challah is on the rise and can be used in a variety of ways such as in bread pudding, french toast and even as a sandwich melt.  Below are some of the recipes he shared on "Home & Family."
