Celebrity chef Zac Young, owner of Sprinkletown Donuts & Ice Cream and creator of the famous PieCaken, has announced a new version of the dessert just in time for July 4th and other summer celebrations.

Chef Young has baked up the new seasonal Red, White and Blueberry. This four-in-one layered dessert combines favorite flavors of the season, including blueberry crumb cake, New York cherry cheesecake and red velvet cake, topped with a lemon buttercream and blueberry pie filling. It's available with nationwide shipping through Goldbelly.

The PieCaken is a sweet version of the turducken, the layered dish that stuffs a chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey. It has received plenty of cultural notoriety over the years, but Chef Young took it to the next level by turning it into a dessert dish. Working with fellow pastry chef Gian Martinez, the two developed the “dessert turducken” in 2015.

The PieCaken consists of pecan pie on the bottom, pumpkin pie in the middle and spice cake on top, all layered together with cinnamon buttercream and topped with apple pie filling. Since its creation, Chef Young has come up with other seasonal versions of the dessert, which he sells on Goldbelly through The Piecaken Bakeshop.
