The annual Smile Cookie campaign is back at Tim Hortons restaurants in the United States starting Monday, April 28, through Sunday, May 4. Every purchase of a Smile Cookie — a baked-daily Tim Hortons Chocolate Chunk Cookie hand-decorated with a blue and pink icing smile — will help give back to local communities.

One hundred percent of profits ($2 per cookie) are donated to over 25 charities and community groups selected by local Tims restaurant owners. Across the US, donation recipients include local children-focused organizations, hospitals and community care organizations.

Each year, Tim Hortons restaurant owners pick local charities or community groups – including children's hospitals and other organizations that support youth in need – to benefit from Smile Cookie sales, based on the important impact they deliver in their community.

Last year, Tim Hortons guests in the US helped raise over $347,000 through Smile Cookie sales. More than $90 million has been raised in the US and Canada since the Smile Cookie campaign first launched in 1996.

“Year round, our guests love our Chocolate Chunk Cookies, but something really magical happens during our Smile Cookie campaign when we add a smile on top and transform the delicious treat into a powerful way for our guests to help us support important causes in their communities,” says Katerina Glyptis, president of Tim Hortons US. “We love the spirit of sharing that Smile Cookies inspire – like co-workers taking turns every day bringing a box of Smile Cookies into work to share – and we thank all our guests for helping us support great charities and community groups.”
