Terry Bartsch of AMF Bakery Systems, Tameka Carr of The Kroger Co. and Clay Miller of Burford Corp. have been named as new members of the American Bakers Association (ABA) board of directors.

The ABA said Bartsch transitions into the BEMA representative seat, Carr takes over the AIB International chair seat and Miller occupies the ATBI president seat.

All three new board members will serve for the 2025-27 term. They take over from outgoing board members Campbell Williams of BCW, Bill Gross of PPC Flexible Packaging and Paul Lattan of Avant Media.

“We are proud to welcome Terry, Tameka, and Clay to the ABA board of directors,” said Eric Dell, president and chief executive officer of the ABA. “Their collective expertise and dedication will be instrumental in forging the future of the commercial baking industry and ensuring that ABA continues to be a powerful advocate for our members.”

Bartsch, executive product manager of dough systems at AMF Bakery Systems, Richmond, Va., brings more than 35 years of sales, marketing and leadership experience in the commercial bakery industry, according to the ABA. The association noted that, during his career, Bartsch has developed and led various sales teams and driven brand and product development initiatives for a range of capital equipment suppliers.

As director of product development and quality at Cincinnati-based Kroger, Carr oversees technical and regulatory processes. She has spent more than 25 years in the food and beverage industry — with expertise in food safety, quality and product innovation — and this year was appointed as chair of board of trustees for AIB International.

Miller currently serves as president of Middleby Bakery’s Burford Corp., based in Maysville, Okla., and holds the post of ATBI president. The ABA said his baking industry career began in 2001 when, just one year out of college, he was hired by Burford as a mechanical design engineer. In 2008, Miller shifted to sales and later to vice president of sales. In 2019, he became president of Burford.

“We are proud to welcome our new board members,” said ABA chair Bill Quigg, president and CEO of Richmond Baking, Richmond, Ind.  “Each of these leaders brings a unique and invaluable perspective to the board that will help guide ABA’s strategic initiatives to champion the commercial baking industry and strengthen our member community.”
