The Baking Channel’s original series, Cake Show premiered Oct. 30 onwww.thebakingchannel.com. The filmed decorating competition is proudly sponsored by DecoPac and Stratas Foods. Each episode of the series features decorators from cities around the country competing for the title of America’s Best Decorator. The first installment of the series is filmed in the Twin Cities area and features four of the region’s most talented decorators, Mary A. Moy at Faces Mears Park, Robyn Hanisch at Hanisch Bakery, Ly Hang Lo at Cupcake Caramel by Sweets Bakeshop, and Roxanne Johnson at The Cake Box Bakery.


In upcoming episodes, the four decorators will test their skills at three different cake decorating challenges: the Tiered Cake Challenge, the Quarter Sheet Cake Challenge, and the Cupcake Challenge. Contestants will be given one hour to complete the Tiered Cake Challenge, 45 minutes to complete the Quarter Sheet Cake Challenge, and 15 minutes to decorate four cupcakes for the Cupcake Challenge.

The first season of Cake Show will be filmed in a total of six cities including the Minneapolis, MN, St. Paul, MN, Seattle, WA, Kansas City, MO, and New York, NY. Each city will feature its four most talented cake decorators. At the end of season one, The Baking Channel and bake magazine will host national online ballot featuring winning competitors from all six cities, allowing the public to vote for America’s Best Cake Decorator. Winners of Cake Show: Season One will receive cash prizes and will be featured in bake magazine.
