Following months of testing, on Wednesday, December 14, Chicago-based Stan’s Donuts & Coffee will introduce its most delectable donut yet, the Olive Oil Le Stan.

The traditional Le Stan croissant donut will be fried in olive oil, thus bringing out the greatest of fried flavors. Then, the donut will be filled with Zabaglione Italian custard made with Marsala Wine and orange zest to compliment the rich olive oil flavors of the flaky croissant donut.

Chief doughboy Rich Labriola has been working on the Olive Oil Le Stan for years and has finally perfected it. The inspiration for the filling came from Rich’s favorite cake, the Sacripantina cake.

“What you fry your donuts in is just as important as the donut itself, the fry oil adds to the eating experience and that is how we came up with the use of olive oil,” says Labriola.

The Olive Oil Le Stan will be available for a price of $4.95 at 15 Stan’s locations throughout Chicagoland, excluding Mariano’s locations, from December 14 through January 1, 2023.
