Fans of Betty White, who passed away on December 31, 2021, will gather in her hometown of Oak Park, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) this Saturday, January 15 for Betty White Day. Two days later on Monday, January 17 would’ve been her 100th birthday.

Sugar Fixé Pâtisserie, a local bakery, will help to celebrate the life of the late actress with a limited-edition cookie. The royal icing cookies commemorate her character Rose in Golden Girls with her picture and the words ‘Stay Golden.’

Many local businesses, including Sugar Fixé Pâtisserie, are offering specials this week. The bakery’s special is a white chocolate chip cookie and a white chocolate mocha for $5.

Betty White Day will be proclaimed as an official holiday going forward in Oak Park. There will also be a performance of “The Golden Girls” theme song, a Betty White mural contest, a giant birthday cake from Turano Baking Company and more.
