September is National Food Safety Education Month, and it’s important for foodservice establishments to refresh their knowledge in best practices when it comes to the safety of their guests and their staff.

Rouxbe, a leading online culinary school, is currently offering two courses that address this issue, both of which are available for free:

Safety First Online Program

Rouxbe partnered with the Aspen Institute to release a free online training course that promotes safe restaurant dining for both customers and staff, including guidance on vaccinations. This training program, supported by the CDC Foundation, is based on the first national indoor dining safety guidelines, released in April 2021 in partnership with prominent restaurant industry leaders and organizations. Anyone can register for the free training at https://safetyfirst.rouxbe.com/. Units include videos featuring the country’s leading chefs and are designed to be encouraging and fun.

Rouxbe Food Safety Course

In this Rouxbe course, students can learn how to adopt foodsafe practices to avoid foodborne illness. They can learn about common causes of foodborne illness, the importance of handwashing, how to purchase, store, prepare and cook food in a safe manner, and how to keep a clean and sanitary kitchen. Food Safety takes approximately four hours to complete. And it is available for free with the Rouxbe 14-day membership trial. To learn more and to sign up for the membership trial, please visit https://rouxbe.com/trial/.

With restrictions on indoor dining easing and a full return to outdoor dining in many parts of the country, Rouxbe looks to help ensure a safe working and dining environment for employees and customers with its free coursework.
