Voodoo Doughnut has announced its quarterly give-back campaign, partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) through the creation of the exclusive Lotta Horchata doughnut.
Available now through September 27 at Voodoo Doughnut locations in Oregon, Texas and Denver, Colorado, the Lotta Horchata doughnut is Horchata custard-filled with a cinnamon sugar shell. A portion of the proceeds from every Lotta Horchata doughnut sold will go directly to NAMI, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans and their families affected by mental illness.
“We are delighted that Voodoo Doughnut has selected NAMI as the beneficiary of this campaign,” says NAMI chief development officer Katrina Gay. “Efforts like this help raise awareness to the importance of mental health, and reduce the stigma and discrimination facing those living with mental illness.”
“We are proud to extend our partnership with NAMI, and play a small part in supporting their programs and resources by donating a portion of sales from our Lotta Horchata doughnut,” says Chris Schultz, chief executive officer of Voodoo Doughnut.
Voodoo Doughnut is also offering a new seasonal Cannolo flavor, the Smoky Campfire Cannolo. The summertime-inspired Cannolo is marshmallow filled, with a smoky chocolate drizzle and dipped in crushed graham crackers. It is available now through September 13.
Another new offering from Voodoo Doughnut is the Ginger Peach Cannolo, which has peach filling with peach slices, and is dusted with ginger sugar. It is available through September 6. Both limited time summertime Cannolo flavors are available in Voodoo Doughnut locations in Oregon, Texas and Denver, Colorado.
