California’s renowned Porto’s Bakery & Café has earned plenty of praise for its famous Potato Balls, mashed potato balls filled with picadillo (ground beef, onions, peppers and Spanish seasonings) coated in panko bread crumbs and fried to perfection.
In the lead-up to Easter, Porto’s has debuted a new version of this product featuring seafood. Through Easter Sunday on April 4, customers can order the Seafood Potato Ball. It features the potato puree filled with a seafood ragout consisting of calamari, shrimp and scallops flavored with garlic, cilantro, lemon zest and folded in a spicy tomato sauce. It’s breaded with a panko/cilantro coating and deep fried.
The balls are available at all Porto’s locations, as well as through the Porto’s Bake at Home lineup, so customers can have a dozen Porto’s Bake at Home Seafood Potato Balls shipped to them, unbaked and frozen, to heat up later.
