BlissBomb, a Brooklyn start-up specializing in baked mini donuts, has reconstructed some of the top flavors of summer in its newest donuts shipping nationwide and for sale locally in New York City.

BlissBomb executive pastry chef Tarran Hatton, formerly of Milk Bar, conceived and created the following three limited-time flavors:

  • Strawberry Balsamic – Inspired by a summertime galette, this donut is marbled with a house-made, juicy strawberry balsamic compote, covered with a strawberry balsamic glaze and topped with buttery pie dough pieces
  • Mango Margarita – A tart and tangy donut infused with a refreshing fruity mix of mango, tequila and fresh lime juice. Glazed with salted lime zest and tequila, the donut is topped with candied mango
  • Ice Cream Sando – A Neapolitan classic, the shop’s Valrhona chocolate base is infused with a house-made melted ice cream recipe. An iconic ice cream sandwich wafer sits atop a swirl of vanilla and strawberry ice cream glaze

“We’re going big on the flavors that remind us of our favorite summer experiences, whether that be tearing out of the house as kids when we heard the music of the ice cream truck, or sitting seaside sipping a frosty margarita watching the sun set,” says Hatton. “We’re creating our own ingredients to infuse the right balance of sweet and savory flavors in all layers of our mini donuts.”

In May, BlissBomb launched its nationwide ecommerce offering, shipping mini donuts in luxe gift boxes ($48) and DIY donut decorating kits ($40) anywhere in the US. The donuts are also available through NYC wholesale, delivery (GrubHub, DoorDash, Postmates, ezCater) and catering.
