With Cinco de Mayo and spring/summer birthdays approaching, one interesting way to help customers celebrate is a piñata cake. You can make a traditional cake livelier and more exciting for partygoers by filling it with candy.

To make a piñata cake, cut out a roughly 4-inch circle in the center of the cake before you have frosted it. Preserve the rounds, as they can be used later. Fill the hole in the cake with a few cups of whatever candy you want to use. Make sure to leave a little bit of room at the top of the hole.

Take one of the previous cake rounds and slice it in half horizontally to make two thinner rounds. Cover the candy with one of the rounds. Then, finish frosting the cake and decorate it with a variety of colors.
