In June of 2019, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts announced that it would be bringing its hot, fresh doughnuts to the bright lights of New York City in 2020 with a first-of-its-kind store opening in the city’s famed Times Square.

The company has finally revealed that May of 2020 will be the grand opening month for the previously announced Times Square flagship. The new store is expected to serve more guests annually than any other Krispy Kreme location in the world. The world’s largest Hot Light will signal to passersby to come into the shop 24 hours a day. Once inside, immersive and interactive digital activations will provide guests both group and individual experiences.

The Times Square store will also offer exclusive merchandise that celebrates both New York City and Krispy Kreme, an exterior walk-up window where guests can purchase pre-packed doughnut dozens and coffee, and an interior “grab-and-go” counter featuring pre-packed dozens and the aforementioned merchandise.

“New Yorkers expect the best, including the best doughnuts. Their reaction to our Times Square flagship announcement last year was tremendous. It fueled our excitement to expand in the Big Apple in an even bigger way,” says Andrew Skehan, Krispy Kreme’s President of North America.

Additionally, Krispy Kreme plans to open six new shops in New York City this year and re-opened its refurbished Penn Station shop on Thursday, January 30.
