National Pie Day is just a few days away, taking place Thursday, January 23. On that day, the American Pie Council (APC) invites everyone to enjoy the dessert, regardless of their favorite flavor.

The annual celebration dates to the mid-1970’s and has been sponsored by the American Pie Council since 1986.

“While we know that people enjoy pies all year long, we encourage everyone on January 23 to pause, pick up a fork, and share their favorite pie with friends and loved ones. Then join us in Orlando in April [for the National Pie Championships] when we’ll pick the best of the best!” says APC executive director Linda Hoskins.

Preparations continue to the 25^th annual APC National Pie Championships, a three-day festival in Orlando, Florida. Set for April 23-25, 2020 at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, the competition will feature bakers from across the U.S. and Canada facing off in the world’s top vacation destination. Hundreds of pies will be sampled by more than 200 judges to select the nation’s best in a wide array of flavor categories.
