Earlier this year, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Prantl’s Bakery made headlines when it turned its iconic burnt almond torte into an ale. The bakery partnered with Cleveland, Ohio-based Platform Beer Co. for the beverage, simply called “Torte.”

Now, the two businesses are at it again, this time releasing a stout flavored after Prantl’s chocolate almond torte. Going by the same name, Chocolate Almond Torte is a sweet stout brewed with Prantl’s famous almonds, chocolate, vanilla and lactose (milk sugar).

The 8.5%-alcohol-by-volume beer will be released Saturday, October 19 at Platform Beer Co.’s tasting rooms in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio. The 16-ounce cans will then be available starting Monday, October 21 at retail locations in Pittsburgh.

“We saw so much excitement around the first batch and knew we had to do it again,” says Matt Subel, Platform Beer Co.’s vice president of sales.
