Move over Christmas, because a new holiday has emerged in the gingerbread house game. A variety of retailers are offering gingerbread houses that are Halloween-themed, adding a new level of fun to the spooky season.

Featuring unique candy decorations and delicious cookie pieces, the houses are a way for customers to have fun during the beloved time of year. They can also provide inspiration for bakeries looking to capitalize on Halloween with new products.

Williams Sonoma is selling a personalized Halloween Gingerbread House on its website. Each house is hand decorated with an array of icing, colorful candies, and a cookie plaque above the door that reads “Happy Halloween” or can be customized online with a personalized message.

Last year, cake decorating company Wilton had multiple options of Halloween houses available online. One product was a large chocolate cookie house that came pre-assembled and ready to decorate. Also included were two types of candies, yellow fondant, purple and gray ready-to-use icing, two disposable decorating bags, two tips, and an instruction sheet.

For something that requires more assembly, Blair Candy offers its Wonka Haunted Cookie House Kit. The kit features pumpkin spice-flavored cookie house pieces that snap together and a variety of Wonka candies like Nerds, Bottle Caps, Sweetarts, and Runts.

Cookies and candy are popular throughout the year, but are especially cherished during the fall. Halloween-themed gingerbread houses can satisfy customer cravings while also giving them a fun holiday decoration.
