Pride Month is well underway, and businesses are finding unique ways to celebrate. One of those is New York City’s Padoca Bakery, which is selling a special cookie for a good cause.

The bakery’s rainbow sugar cookies will benefit The Trevor Project. 25 percent of the total sales of the item during the month of June will go to the national organization, which provides crisis and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth.

Along with Padoca Bakery, other businesses in the East Midtown neighborhood of New York City are celebrating Pride Month and WorldPride 2019 (which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising) by donating proceeds from the sale of special Pride items to The Trevor Project.

This month, East Midtown has partnered with The Names Project to display AIDS Memorial Quilt panels in several establishments, including IKEA, Marriott, 59E59 Theater, Central Synagogue, and more – all in an effort to bring LGBTQA+ issues to the forefront of one of Manhattan’s busiest neighborhoods.
