KitchenAid, a long-standing member and supplier to the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, is celebrating 100 years, while the famous international competition reaches 30 in 2019. The legendary American brand, inventor of the first mixer appliance in 1919, is celebrating a century of kitchen expertise, serving professionals and cooking enthusiasts all over the world. It all started with a professional appliance designed for bakers and pastry makers; KitchenAid had soon made its name.

And to mark its birthday, the KitchenAid brand used the SIRHA event in Lyon, France, to provide an exclusive preview of its Queen of Hearts collection. A unique range created to celebrate 100 years features seven of the brand’s ‘flagship’ products from its four areas of expertise:

  1. The mixer, with the 4.8-litre stand mixer and hand mixer
  2. Fresh and healthy cooking, with the SuperBlender
  3. Homemade cooking, with the hand blender and mini-chopper
  4. Breakfast, with the 1.5-litre kettle and 2-slice long-slot toaster

After arriving in Europe in the 1950s, its famous stand mixer quickly gained a following among passionate amateur chefs. Since its launch in 1937, this functional design icon is now available in more than 25 colors, offering the richest palette on the market. And with no fewer than 20 optional accessories, the possibilities are endless – from the meat mincer to the ice-cream maker, the fresh pasta machine, juicer, vegetable chopper, slicer/grater, lemon squeezer, food processor, and more.

This global success has inspired KitchenAid to develop a complete range of small household appliances (blenders and super blenders, hand blenders, food processors, all-in-one cookers, toasters, kettles, coffee machines and more). Durable, delivering professional results and with a truly distinctive design, they have become the dependable and essential allies of any discerning cook on the constant lookout for new culinary challenges.

Custom mixer prize

Hobart will once again give away a custom-painted Legacy HL662 Pizza Mixer (valued at $20,000) at the International Pizza Expo March 4-7 in Las Vegas. Hobart will unveil the one-of-a-kind mixer design on the first day of the expo at booth 1739. This year’s theme is inspired by the maximum heavy-duty performance of the 60-quart Legacy HL662 Mixer, which features a 2.7 horsepower motor and exclusive Variable Frequency Drive technology designed for consistency and durability under the heaviest dough loads.

Other exclusive Hobart features on the Legacy HL662 include Shift-on-the-Fly — controls that allow the operator to change speeds while the mixer is running — and the Hobart-patented Soft Start Agitation Technology that provides a soft transition into higher speed to reduce the opportunity for product splash-out. Combined, thesefeatures improve productivity, performance and sanitation.
