Although the Super Bowl will be the big event taking place this weekend, across the country in California a major event in the world of sweets gets underway Saturday in Anaheim. The Anaheim Convention Center plays host to the LA Cookie Con & Sweets Show on February 2-3.

Known by many as “the biggest baking and pastry convention on the West Coast,” this show celebrates all things sweet, salty, and savory in the world of baking and sweets. Some of the biggest celebrities in the baking industry will be joined by a sold-out crowd for the two-day extravaganza.

Among the esteemed guests at this year’s convention are famed cake decorator Ron Ben-Israel and the “Sweet Assassin” Adriano Zumbo, as well as baker and YouTube personality Rosanna Pansino, who is known for the cooking series Nerdy Nummies, one of the most well-known baking shows on YouTube.

Exhibitors from all across the industry will be featured at the convention. Bakeries, restaurants, chocolatiers, ice creameries, specialty snack companies, beverage companies, culinary schools, baking suppliers, and many more will reach consumers and network with other professionals at the family-friendly event.

Ron Ben-Israel will judge the Decorators Showcase Competition on Saturday. The event is a charitable showcase, with proceeds from entry fees going to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and Smile Train. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is committed to raising funds for research to develop new, improved treatments for pediatric cancer. Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to solving cleft lip and palate.

On Sunday, Adriano Zumbo will judge the Kids’ Cake Competition. Sponsored by Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, the competiton features kids ages 3-6 competing for best Kid’s Cake or Dessert in four categories: Land of Sweets, Land of Amusements, Land of Flowers, and Land of Snowflakes.
