Just in time for Valentine’s Day in February, Godiva Chocolates will debut its first North American café at Penn Station in New York City. The new café experience will feature a wide variety of Godiva chocolate-based items such as hot chocolate, muffins, cookies, affogato, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and croiffles.

That last one is the latest innovation from Godiva. The croiffle is a croissant-waffle hybrid that consists of a freshly-made buttery croissant pressed into a hot waffle that will be available in both sweet and savory flavors.

The sweet versions of the croiffle include the Dark Chocolate Croiffle and Milk Chocolate Croiffle at $5.95 each. For those looking for something savory, there are four options: Three Cheese Croiffle, the Ham & Swiss Croiffle, the Bacon, Egg & Gouda Croiffle, and the Sausage, Egg & Gruyere Croiffle, each at

The Belgian chocolate company will also offer signature Belgian waffles, with or without chocolate drizzle, and a smaller version of the classic treat can be served plain or coated with cinnamon sugar. Customers can pair these treats with a chocolate-based beverage. The café will offer three kinds of Godiva affogatos made with espresso, soft serve, and whipped cream, as well as Godiva Mochas topped with a dark chocolate square.

In addition to the Penn station location, Godiva plans on opening a second New York City store in the spring. The cafés are part of Godiva’s long-term strategy to roll out close to 2,000 cafés over the next six years.
