Three Brothers Bakery first opened in Houston, Texas on May 8, 1949. Since then, the bakery has persevered through several hardships and has become a staple of the community.
In celebration of that longevity and the beginning of the Mardi Gras season starting with Kings’ Day on January 6, Three Brothers Bakery has announced that customers can begin ordering its famous king cakes. The bakery perfected its king cake recipe from traveling to New Orleans to learning from top bakers in the city known for king cakes.
Three Brothers Bakery’s king cakes are made in that classic Louisiana style, filled with cream cheese or fruit flavors and topped with purple, green, and yellow colored sanding sugar on white icing. They also include a small plastic baby in the true king cake style.
“We can’t think of a better way to kick off our 70th anniversary celebration than by encouraging customers to come in store or shop our online store to enjoy our King Cakes,” says Bobby Jucker, Three Brothers Bakery co-owner. “Our King Cake has become one of our signature items, and we are thrilled with how it brings a real piece of Louisiana Mardi Gras tradition to Houston.”
