In two weeks, families and friends will gather at Thanksgiving celebrations across the country. Traditional holiday foods will be served and enjoyed. While many will wait until that day for these savory and sweet delights, bakeries and bakery-cafés aren’t waiting to bring these foods to customers.

One of those is bakery-café chain Au Bon Pain. The company recently announced the return of its holiday menu, with one of those items providing a zesty take on a turkey sandwich. The Newport Turkey Sandwich is served on country white bread and features sliced turkey, fresh avocado, cheddar, and a touch of zesty honey mustard.

An incredibly popular seasonal offering at the iconic bakery brand Milk Bar is the Thanksgiving Croissant. Making yet another annual appearance on Milk Bar’s menu, this meal-in-a-pastry consists of roasted turkey, homemade gravy, and cranberry sauce tucked into stuffing-flavored dough.

Bread is even getting a Thanksgiving makeover this time of year. Boudin Bakery, the creator of the Original San Francisco Sourdough French Bread, offers a Pull-Apart Sourdough Turkey. Baked into the shape of a turkey, each sourdough turkey pulls apart into 20 dinner rolls and one half bread bowl.

Three Brothers Bakery serves up the ultimate Thanksgiving dessert with something for everyone. It’s called the Pumpecapple Piecake, and it sells for $250. This special cake requires five days’ notice because of the complexity of its production. Each piecake is layered with scratch-made cream cheese icing, then is finished with cream cheese icing, garnished with pecan pieces, and drizzled with caramel.

“It’s a pumpkin pie in a pumpkin spice cake, a pecan pie in chocolate cake, and an apple pie in an apple spice cake,” says Bobby Jucker, chef and owner at Three Brothers Bakery.
