Earlier today on the television program Good Morning America, Washington, D.C.-based Georgetown Cupcake and New York City’s Breads Bakery faced off in a friendly competition. The two bakeries created pumpkin-flavored dishes to the delight of those in attendance.

Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Berman, owners of Georgetown Cupcake, went up against Edan Leshnick, pastry chef at Breads Bakery, for GMA’s “Golden Pumpkin” trophy. Georgetown Cupcake’s dish was Pumpkin S’more Cupcake Parfaits, combining two favorite fall desserts in Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes and S’mores. Breads Bakery looked to compete with that dessert with its Pumpkin Cheesecake Strudel.

Audience members tasted both treats and decided on the winner: Breads Bakery’s Pumpkin Cheesecake Strudel. Both recipes can be found at Good Morning America’s website.
