Houston’s Three Brothers Bakery is making October special with its baked goods. To commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the bakery is having a bake sale at all three of its locations and online.

All month long, Three Brothers Bakery will offer pink ribbon cakes, cupcakes, pumpkin cookies, petit fours, and gingerbread men. A portion of proceeds from the sales of the signature pink ribbon baked goods will be donated to Susan G. Komen Houston.

Every year since co-owner Janice Jucker was diagnosed with breast cancer, the bakery has held this sale. It supports an organization that supported Jucker during her journey. She says that “there is a direct correlation between breast cancer survivorship and the inception of Susan G. Komen. They know who is doing the cutting edge research and who can help people get the screenings they need, which is why it is my charity of choice in this fight against breast cancer.”

Jucker learned from this experience that “we do not realize how much people care about you until you are facing adversity. They want to help you, so let them.”
