In May, award-winning Boston bakery Flour Bakery + Café announced that it would be opening a new location later in the year in the city's Seaport District, which will house both a café and a production space for the Flour brand.

That time has now come, as the bakery will hold the grand opening for the new location on Monday, October 1. For the first week, it will only be open until 2 p.m. EST each day, as there is still work to be done on the kitchen space. This will allow Flour to launch a new addition, a smoothie bar, which will give customers the opportunity to order smoothie bowls with a variety of toppings.

Flour Bakery + Café will be bringing all of its favorites to the new location, including its famous sticky buns. Assorted pastries, sandwiches, and salads will also be available, in addition to the WHOLEflour line. This project that debuted early in the year is a major commitment to whole grains, which can be found in cookies, brownies, scones, croissants, and more at all Flour Bakery locations.

Founder and former James Beard Outstanding Baker award winner Joanne Chang is excited about the new location and its future potential. “It’s a huge move for us that will hopefully allow us to open up a few more Flours in Boston,” Chang told The Boston Globe in May.
