Flour Bakery + Café is one of the most accomplished bakeries in the country. Founder Joanne Chang was named the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Baker in 2016, and her bakery has been honored with numerous distinctions over the years.

As one of the most successful bakery owners in the country, Chang has provided other bakery owners with plenty of great advice on how to open and manage profitable bakeries. That influence extends to how to run special promotions such as on National Bakery Day.

For National Bakery Day this year, Flour Bakery + Café is looking to use its popularity to give back. On Friday, September 14, the bakery is selling mini chocolate cupcakes with homemade sprinkles for just $2 each. The proceeds from these cupcakes benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

The No Kid Hungry campaign works to end child hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day. It connects kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals through a network made up of private citizens, government officials, business leaders, and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities.
