Baker's Request Devil's Food Cake Mix
Spred 'N Gloss Icing
Velvet Top Vanilla Pre-Whipped Icing
DDA Pan Spray
Chocolate Shavings
Dulce De Leche
Toasted Sesame Seeds
Directions
Prepare Baker's Request Devil's Food Cake Mix according to bag instructions.
After baking 8' round layers, split in half.
Sesame Brittle
Combine 1 cup sugar to 1 cup cornsyrup and 1 1/2 cups sesame seeds in a bowl and microwave on high for 6 minutes, stirring often. Add 1 T butter, 1/8 t salt and 1/2 t vanilla to taste. Microwave for 3 minutes, stir once. Stir in 1 t baking soda. Pour into sheet pan coated with DDA Pan Spray. cool and then chop brittle in small pieces.
Build Layers
Combine brittle with Dulce De Leche. Place 1 cake layer onto 9" cake board; top with Sesame Brittle mixture and smooth onto chocolate cake layer, 1/4 away from edge.
Place Spred N' Gloss Icing in a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe 2 concentric circles onto layer place in freezer for 20 minutes to firm icing.
Fill next layer with caramel mousse. Add second cake layer, then ice cake with Spred N' Gloss Icing. Garnish cake with Chocolate Shavings and fresh strawberries.
