National Ice Cream Day takes place Sunday, July 15, and retailers across the country are looking to provide sweet (and cool) relief to customers on the warm summer day.

Mediterranean fast casual restaurant The Hummus & Pita Co. is looking to get in on the National Ice Cream Day action. The innovators of the first-ever Hummus Shake are back at it with a new lineup of hummus treats, Hummus Ice Cream.

The all-natural ice cream is made from healthy ingredients like chickpeas, tahini, and pure vanilla. The four flavors available are chocolate, fresh strawberry, cookies & cream, and banana almond. They get their sweetness from ripe dates, almond milk, and coconut cream. Healthier desserts are trending right now, and Hummus Ice Cream satisfies that by being rich in vitamins and nutrients, as well as being gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan.

“We were so blown away by the popularity of the Hummus Shake that we knew we had to keep inventing new treats,” says Dave Pesso, founder of The Hummus & Pita Co. “This all started when I developed the dessert hummus as a healthier alternative for my daughter, and the response from my family was so great that we wanted to share it with The Hummus & Pita Co. guests.”

Hummus Ice Cream will be available at all Hummus & Pita Co. locations in New York City starting Wednesday, August 1, but will be offered at its Chelsea location starting Sunday, July 15. An 8-ounce version is available for $4.95 and a 6-ounce version is $3.95.
