World’s first chocolate pizzeria pops up in Toronto

Dr. Oetker is one of the fastest growing food manufacturing companies in Canada, producing a variety of dessert mixes, baking ingredients, and frozen pizzas. The company recently introduced a chocolate frozen pizza called Ristorante Cioccolato, and is celebrating it with a sweet pop-up shop in Toronto.

Cioccolato's Ristorante – the world's only chocolate pizzeria – is opening just in time for Valentine’s Day. From Friday, February 9 to Wednesday, February 14, the retailer will not only provide its chocolate pizza to guests, but also will feature chocolatey décor, like a chocolate pizza oven, a chocolate chandelier, and even a real diamond ring made from chocolate pizza.

“Innovation has always been at the heart of our business, so we're excited to introduce our brand-new chocolate pizza by welcoming guests at Cioccolato's Ristorante,” says Peter Macdonald, Executive Head of Marketing for Dr. Oetker Canada. “Ristorante Cioccolato is the perfect complement to our best-selling Ristorante pizza lineup, and we can't wait to share it with Canadians.”

With the rise of pop-up shops as a promotional tool, bakeries and cafés can effectively promote new products in an innovative way. Although Dr. Oetker specializes in frozen products, the Cioccolato’s Ristorante pop-up provides an excellent example of how to have fun with a product introduction.
