Valrhona Chocolate is hosting its third consecutive Hot Chocolate Festival in New York City. The event, which started January 20 and runs through February 4, celebrates artisanal hot chocolate.

Ten bakeries and chocolatiers around the city will participate in the festival. That list includes Ladurée, Fika, La Maison du Chocolat, Baked, Dominique Ansel Kitchen, Epicerie Boulud, Daily Provisions, Petrossian Bakery, Brooklyn Roasting Company, and Patisserie Chanson.

The winter season is an ideal time for this festival, and the warm beverages provide a welcome relief from the cold weather. Each retailer will provide a unique take on the standard hot chocolate, which are detailed at Valrhona’s website.

A portion of the proceeds from each hot chocolate sale will go towards C-CAP’s Job Training Program, a nonprofit that helps disadvantaged high-school students explore culinary careers.

On Thursday, January 18, Valrhona hosted a kickoff party at Ladurée Soho. For $35, guests could enjoy unlimited samples of each specialty hot chocolate and accompanying sweet treats. All the proceeds from those ticket sales also went to C-CAP’s Job Training Program.
