Lionsgate Films is planning an entertainment complex in New York City’s Times Square that will be based on some of its most successful television and movie properties.

The production company is partnering with leisure park operator Parques Reunidos on the indoor entertainment center, which will be known as Lionsgate Entertainment City. One of the features of this new experience, tentatively set to open in 2019, will be a bakery based on the widely successful film franchise The Hunger Games.

The bakery will be called Peeta’s Bakery, in reference to the character Peeta from the books and films whose family owns a bakery. Accompanying Peeta’s Bakery will be The Capitol Confectionery, which will offer sweets and more. The name is a reference to the city in the books and films where the wealthiest citizens live.

Also featured at Lionsgate Entertainment City will be a Mad Men restaurant, a Hunger Games flying simulator attraction, a Divergent themed obstacle course, the John Wick: Chapter Two shooting ride, a 4D film and live theater, and virtual reality entertainment, including a Nerve VR motorcycle experience.

“We are very excited to collaborate with Lionsgate in this new project, which is a big milestone for our strategy to develop Indoor Entertainment Centers in shopping malls and landmark buildings,” says Parques Reunidos CEO Fernando Eiroa.
