The American Bakers Association said in a statement on its website on August 30 that its “thoughts and prayers are with its member facilities impacted by Hurricane Harvey and (it) is available to direct members toward resources. It has been in contact with USDA and will stay on alert as the situation continues.”

Those resources that ABA identifies include:

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 800-621-3362

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) 800-832-5660

Texas Department of Transportation 800-558-9368

Louisiana Department of Transportation 877-452-3683

American Red Cross 800-733-2767

“As I am sure you are aware, flooding in Texas and Louisiana has resulted in a complete shutdown in cities on the Gulf Coast, as well as their surrounding areas,” Robb MacKie, president and chief executive officer of the ABA, tells Baking Business. “Many ABA members’ facilities are in the region. I would like to personally assure you that ABA stands ready to assist members in any way.”
