At this year’s Cake International Show, which took place April 22-23 at Alexandra Palace in London, the competition was stiff, but one decorator stood out above all the rest.

Cake designer Emma Jayne created an intricately designed cake based on a wedding dress from fashion designer Mak Tumang. Using a tool known as dragéekiss, Jayne meticulously placed pearls inside every flower on the cake. This perfectly mimicked the dress it was based on, which you can see below.

The cake was part of “Wedding Gowns Through the Ages,” an exhibit of wedding-dress inspired cakes. It generated a lot of buzz for the designer as well as for the competition.

Cake international hosts the world’s largest cake competition according to its website. “Open for anyone - of any age and experience - to enter, this competition has launched baking careers and is truly the heart of Cake International. If you love cake decorating and cake art, then join us and take part in a competition that celebrates the ever-evolving skills and creativity of cake decorators across the globe,” it goes on to say.
