James Worthington, CEO of Kneaders Bakery and Café, will receive the Rising Star award from the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. The award recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who distinguish themselves in their careers by modeling exemplary achievements for present and future students and are leaders in their communities.

The award was created to highlight business individuals that have had an impact in their industries. Worthington will be the first to receive the award, after working his way through all levels of the company at Kneaders Bakery and Café.

"I am humbled to receive this award from my alma mater. This is where I found my passion for business and entrepreneurship. There are so many great people and community leaders that have graduated from the David Eccles School of Business. To be recognized among Utah's top business leaders is a high honor," says Worthington.

The award and announcement will take place at the University of Utah's Hall of Fame event on Tuesday, April 18 in the school’s Scholarship Reception Room at 12 p.m. MT.

Kneaders has announced that it will give a $25,000 endowment to the David Eccles School of Business for the Kneaders Women in Business Scholarship in honor of the business achievements and spirit of entrepreneurship exemplified by Kneaders Co-Founder Colleen Worthington.
