Popularity is not an issue for cupcakes, a bakery product that almost every person seems to enjoy. Cupcakeries have seen their business remain strong in 2017, which makes the timing of National Cupcake Day towards the end of the year ideal for celebrating.

Friday, December 15 is being recognized as National Cupcake Day, and these handheld treats will no doubt be consumed in great quantities. Cupcake retailers have been preparing for the day by offering special deals on their signature sweets.

Major names in the industry are treating customers in a variety of ways. Sprinkles Cupcakes, one of the biggest names in cupcakes, is celebrating by giving away a free limited-edition Strawberry Sprinkles Cupcake to the first 50 people at each of its locations.

In another giveaway, the first 25 guests at each of Cake Boss Buddy Valastro’s Carlo’s Bakery locations in the U.S. will receive a free cupcake of their choice.

America’s largest cupcake franchise, Gigi’s Cupcakes, is offering a buy one and get one free deal (up to six) on its cupcakes, while New York’s famous Baked by Melissa is running a buy 3 25-packs and get one free deal.

Former Shark Tank participant Wicked Good Cupcakes, which specializes in Cupcakes in Jars, has a special online deal in which customers can get 15% off Friday orders by using the promo code HOLIDAY.

In one of the more creative National Cupcake Day promotions, The Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe in Midland, Michigan will have cupcakes on sale for $2.50 when customers say “Happy National Cupcake Day!” Additionally, the bakery will give one lucky winner one free cupcake per day for the rest of the year.
