New D.C. Bakeries
Eater reports that D.C. has seen a bit of a bakery renaissance over the past couple of years, with more ambitious bakeries opening up around town. There's a mix of homegrown shops, out-of-town transplants, dish-specific projects (think baked pretzels), and more. The offerings span neighborhoods and price points, too.
Listed are several bakeries that have popped up in the last half year, providing a wide range of morning, afternoon, and evening items that appeal to eaters of all different tastes.

"Not one, but two locations of this Tokyo-born bakery have opened in the area over the past six months. The first was in Georgetown, with a Falls Church location to follow. Cream puffs and other pâte à choux pastries rule here."

The Pretzel Bakery (New Location)
