For the 2015-16 season, University of Colorado football and basketball ticketholders are invited to their nearest Colorado LaMar's Donuts for a complimentary donut, on Mondays following a game.

"Offering free donuts on a Monday, no matter the outcome of the game, means everybody's a winner," said Temi Osifodunrin, LaMar's spokesman.

In another way to mark its partnership with the University of Colorado athletics, the Colorado-based donut maker has also created the LaMar's Lil' Ray. Named after founder Ray Lamar, the specialty cake donut holes will come in flavors such as red velvet, apple spice and banana, and will be sold exclusively at Buffs games.

Fresh off its reception as "Colorado's best food and beverage brand" by Denver Business Journal readers and second place on MSN's "9 Best Doughnut Chains in America," LaMar's is assessing creative ways to expand its reach.

LaMar's Donuts has nine Colorado stores and 16 locations in five additional states. The company anticipates new locations across multiple markets in 2015, including one new Colorado store.

The free-donut offer is good for any regular donut already available.

LaMar's Bars, Bizmarks, fritters and other products made without a center hole are exempted.

LaMar's Donuts are made fresh every morning. Every LaMar's product is produced by hand from start to finish, beginning with kneading the dough to the made-from-scratch icing and glazes.

After developing his original donut recipe as a teenager in 1933, Ray Lamar opened the first LaMar's Donuts in 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri. Today the franchised chain has 26 stores in six states. LaMar's has won numerous awards and favorable reviews by such publications as The New Yorker and Gourmet magazine, and was the first donut to be reviewed and acclaimed by Zagat, the world's most trusted guide to restaurants. LaMar's Donuts are proclaimed by many as "simply a better donut." www.Lamars.com
