Retail Properties of America, Inc. announces the signing of a new lease with Corner Bakery Cafe at Heritage Square located in the Seattle Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). This is the first Corner Bakery location in the State of Washington and a significant step in upgrading the tenancy at the shopping center. Corner Bakery will replace Denny's which closed in late 2014. The new location will be approximately 4,200 square feet and is expected to open in the spring of 2016.

Corner Bakery focuses on innovative and flavorful offerings featuring artisan breads, freshly baked sweets, sandwiches, soups and salads. Each location offers a casual neighborhood gathering place for people to relax, meet up with friends and enjoy great food. Founded in Chicago in 1991, Corner Bakery now has more than 185 cafe locations across the country.

Heritage Square is a 53,000 square foot neighborhood shopping center situated in the major retail corridor of Issaquah, Washington, a high barrier-to-entry sub-market with high average household incomes and great visibility off of I-90.

"We are thrilled to bring Corner Bakery to the community of Issaquah," stated Stacy Short, assistant vice president, western division. "This first-to-market lease is a critical step in rebranding the merchandising mix of the center and will be a catalyst to attract new retailers and consumers to Heritage Square."
