Anyone who knows noted sugar artist Mike Elder, knows at least two things: that he has a passion for worthy causes, and he can put on one heck of a cake show.

On March 3-4 in downtown Kansas City, he will not disappoint on either front. Elder's KC Cakefest is a two-day show chock full of events that include cake displays from across the KC metro area, cake tastings, cupcake flights, live demonstrations and, of course, challenges - two that include more than 20 celebrity cake artists and a new youth challenge.

The show will benefit The Whole Person, a Kansas City organization that supports people with disabilities and helps them to live independent lives.

Admission is free to the cake exhibition and vendor area, and pricing for admission to view the challenges and other events - as well as information on how you can exhibit your cakes or become a sponsor - are available at www.kccakefest.com.
